Devolver recently made a funny game called "Devolver Bootleg" where you can play a bootleg version of Hotline Miami, but this game is actually that game is disguise. Man I love this game so much, however let's start with the negatives:

Grenades are weird, they're not useless but you never need to use them, but when you use the enemies just kinda stand there waiting for impact, also, if you go unarmed, everytime you punch you kove foward a bit, if you keep punching you move faster abd the enemies literally stop waht they're doing to see you magnificent speed running skills.

How ever, you can actually use these flaws in your favor, kinda like melee, just like in pacman theres some pallets that gives you special powers, so the game now has 2 ways to play, speedrun mode where you go unarmed and keep attacking and choosing the right pallets at the right time, or actually challenging mode where you chose a gun and have to use the guns and move carefully taking out the enemies and using the pallets just in time time to prevent yourself from dying.

With that out of the way lets talk about the good aspects of this game, the guns are all well made and unique, I like the shotgun since im bad at aiming but the bullet spread just looks so cool and they kinda spread out and slow down after you shoot... Or that's at least that's what I remember.

The music selection is perfect and thanks to this game I've added those songs in my own playlists, and the references to are so on point and fit the game like a glove.

I like the aesthetic of this game, is not a terrible hangover kinda deal but like a fever dream you have after taking too many painkillers, the pastel pallet also adds to that feeling and the musics comes in to really sell that idea.

I am so glad that you guys putted this game back to the website, the few days I wanted to play it but I couldn't find the game was hellish, I'm so glad that I can play it again over and over.

So yeah, if you want a short and extremely fun experience, check it out! It is a must play to any Hotline Miami fans aswell.

You know when a adult cartoon shows a random video game for a gag? This game is the closet youll ever get to experiencing that. and its hilarious.

The game itself is kinda simple and you can button mash to win if you're lucky, but the game still has some basic groundwork to actually be a pretty fun and solid fighter.

You can string some combos and perform special attacks even if it needs some getting used to, the enemies have simple and easy patterns to recognize so getting good in this game is absolutely possible.

But the game might not even be the main appeal of this game, the writing is so stupid that becomes hilarious, like the soundtrack, is taken from Berzerk, probably the most serious seires if all time and now its used over a guy calling himself gay.

If you find the game uninteresting, you can just put some passwords on and spam hadokens, some epic mindless fun any teenager would love to do in high-school, good times.

This game is a master piece, if you never played this gane whike listening to Mr Blue Sky you haven't experienced life fully yet.

What I love about this game is the simplicity of it all, its super fun to string stunts together and see how far can you go and beat your highscore, and the soundtrack is really good too too bad you character can lose hes headphones if he goes to fast.

This right here is one of the big boys of Newgrounds, and for a good reason, this game rules!

Before I talk about the props, let's talk about what bothers me the most about it, the difficultiy. Yes it's a little hard, specially at the end, but my bigger issue is all the gimmicky fights that just fell frustrating rather than challenging, which wouldn't be a problem with the they were few but it kills the pacing of the game, you literally have to kill a bunch of docile enemies in a baseball court so the game can throw a bunch of ninjas trying to ran you over with buggy, the game is filled to the brim with these weird difficulty spikes.

But if we ignore this issue, this game still rocks, it's the most satisfying, well planned and balanced beat em up you can find from the early days of flash, none of the others game gets even close due to the large variety of moves and enemy types, like dam making a beat'em up game in flash is hard because getting the executions to simply work is hard, and impressive!

I like the silly premise this game has and than its delive perfectly, the character design for the protagonist is cool but the star of the show has to the inumerous skills you can try to string the coolest combos ever!

Madness Retaliation is still my favorite madness fan game, its not chaotic and even violent like the others, which can be a deal breaker for some, but it presents its frenetic nature with intense turn based combat, in a way, its a more "sophisticated" madness experience, if you have a taste strategy for games course.

I think a turn based game like this works better within the limitations of Flash, of course there's a lot of classics out there that are straightforward shoot'em ups and they work phenomenally, but the less complicated games stands out for other reasons, maybe the story is good, maybe the puzzles are great, or in this case, the combat is fantastic.

Moving in to close the distance between you and the enemies to get that killing blow, carefully picking them off from a far waiting for the enemy to get close and praying that you're out of their range is just one of the few things that keeps this game engaging.

Each class is surprisingly unique despite their simplicity, even with the fact that two of them literally repeats, the stars of the show has to be the CQC class and the Assault, one of them can chop up baddies with ease and the other can mow down enemies from the other side of the arena.

The enemy variety is surprisingly big, going from weakling grunts, professional assasins and even zombies, each possessing their own treats, deciding who to prioritize and take down first is a good mechanic any action strategy game should have.

The map in this game is huge, and you're encouraged to explore it to make the game significantly easier, your characters don't level up like in traditional rpg, the only way to progress is by exploring and finding the better equipment, making the progression in this game very natural and engaging, theres also some hidden secrets and some sense of humor sprinkled just for good measure.

There's over 200 items in this game and its always exciting when you find a new and powerful weapon that you'll always want to try it out as soon as you can, specially when you get a very powerful weapon.

However, this game has some issues, clicking on the floor to move is unreliable at times, and in a game where position is very important, this issue can get annoying quickly, sometimes you want to move your character back but it's almost impossible if someone is in the way, other times you'll accidentally send your guy charging into the enemy so he can get shot down pitifully.

This problem also occurs when you want to attack a specific enemy, if they're too close together, you gotta be extra carefulon who you shoot, and some weapons can cause friendly fire so you gotta be extea careful.

The Heavy class gets outclassed by the others from the start and all the way to the end of the game, specially at the ealry game, once you find a item it that works with Heavy it doesn't take long for better items that helps the other classes to show up, and the Heavy's weapons are somehow harder to find.

And of course, as many people already stated, the lockers in the underground floor isn't working, It's such a shane to leave a classic like this collecting dust.

But overall, this game is still a blast to play, the save system is great and also a live saver, you can also easily find countless of walk-throughs if you ever find yourself stuck, but unless you want to make the perfect run I suggest you to go blindly, the game isn't so hard and looking up a guide completely ignores the fair challenge and the surprises this game has to offer.

If you're a Madness fan, this game is a must play, if you just want a quick and fun game to play at work,or when you're waiting for something, also give this game a try! i highly recommend it.

A true flash classic, this game offers a challenging rogue like experience where in every try you etiher learn something new or get to upgrade yourself to make the journey bit easier, with probably one of the best voice acting in any flash game.
The gore is one point and all the ambience as well, its pretty hard not to feel immerse in the beautiful chaos of it all, all the me systemsof the game intertwines with one another creating a deadly chaotic dance of fun.

This game rocks!

I remember when I was younger and couldn't get enough of this game, it's so silly yet addictive, I knkw that it isn't the most popular launcher game out there but this one just scratches that spot for me yk.

Yeah, this game is a classic! Short and sweet, perfect for a Flash game, perfect for when you're in break at work.
The gameplay is pretty simple but intriguing, replayability is possible and encouraged to get the best ending, you'll find yourself immersed in the engaging narrative and ambience of it all making the journey worth it.
The game relys on your own self doubt to create its horror, there's no jumpscare or big scary monster after you, which is a pretty underrated aspect for me, more people should see how unique this game is, not just in the horror, but by twisting the premise of the "escape room" ganes that were popular at the time this hame was released.
Overall, it's a classic for a reason, great gameplay and story, everything done to perfection.

I wasn't expecting such a bittersweet tale when I clicked on this game, the tile isn't enough to tell what's waiting for you, and I like that, honestly, I just thought that the girl from the thumbnail was cute and wanted to see more, I think this makes all of the revelations much impact full, everything caught me so off-guard very hard that I found it almost impossible not to feel related to it, even as a cis person.

The visuals might seem simplistic at first but theres so much thought poured into every scene, the design sort of looks like a children's book, it makes sense becaus it'sa family story, but the subject matter is much more serious, it adds a lot for the anxious tone it's going for, and in a way it does ending up looking like a actual graphic novel, but that's not all, thankfully the devs took notice that this is a videogame and added a very beautiful animation on some scenes, they're great when they do something simplistic and amazing when it goes for something more abstract.

The music is breathtaking, enchanting the emotional dread thats felt throughout the story, with a deep and sad undertone to keep you engaged with the story, there's a sincere feeling of nostalgia in it too, a desire to keep things as they used to, which also supports the narrative.

The ending was also unexpected, it ends on a open note that I'll leave you with a taste of wanting more, specially if you felt emontional attach to the story, it will leave you heartbroken, and I love it. This is why I love this game, I feel that this is the closet I'll ever get to really feel how it is to be trans in today's society, I don't think it would work if the writer didn't put herself in a vulnerable spot and opening up like that, and im very thankful for that.

The only bad part about this is not even in the game, it has to be some of the reviews that are so detach to the piece they're criticizing in the first place, it just nails the message of this game home, the simple fact that this is a slice of life from a trans person's point of view drives them insane.

Please keep making games and writing stories, comments like those only proves that we need more stuff like this.

Thank you so much! I don’t have anything quite like this planned for the near future, but I definitely love pursuing taboo kinds of subjects like this, even when it hurts. Writing is therapy to me.
